Inspiration Post - Ladies: In order to find a Good Man, we need to get OURSELVES in order first!
1 comments Posted by Lil Lady at Saturday, August 15, 2009I received this in an email and I found it an interesting read. Enjoy!
Words from Jamal Harrison-Bryant:
I often warn women who are contemplating marriage to marry someone who can take care of them. When a woman marries, it ought to be to someone who is capable of taking her to the next level. If she comes from poverty, there is no reason for her to get married and still be impoverished. The role of the man is to take her to another place.
When she gets married, she ought to dress better, drive better, live better, and eat better, not constantly be in a struggle over where her next meal is coming from. My grandmother used to say, "I can do bad all by myself." For a woman desiring a mate, the objective, of course, would be to find a Christian man, who's settled, has goals, accomplishments and a job. But a goal-oriented and focused man can't just be approached any kind of way. So the woman who seeks this type of stability must make sure that she stands out above the crowd:
1. Make sure your relationship with the Lord is strong and growing.
2. Make sure that you are presentable. Working from the inside out, your presentation should be representative of both who you are and whom you seek. Appearance is a reflection of how you see yourself.
3. Have the ability to hold an intelligent conversation
4. And most importantly, allow the Holy Ghost to take control. You don't need to go after him. He's going to come after you, because after he sees and smells you and knows that you're in his presence, he's going to want to know who you are! I know there's somebody reading this who has been chasing after the 'man of your dreams,' but God says, 'Just sit still and allow patience to have her perfect work through me.'
Furthermore, it's never a good idea to be too forward and too aggressive. Attempting to win a man's affection by jumping into bed with him will only backfire and cause him to lose interest in ever developing a lasting relationship. It causes him to lose respect for you and question your character.
However, if he sees that you are dressed with quality, that you smell like you are somebody, that you look like you're doing fine without him, then that will attract the right attention from him. He'll have no choice but to give you his attention. Stop looking so needy, climbing into bed, trying in vain to capture a man's heart.
God woke me up in the middle of the night and said, 'The same thing that Naomi told Ruth to do is the same thing that I want them to do for me. God is so sick of saints coming to Him trying to get a quickie and never romancing Him for Who he is - going to church screaming, shouting and hollering, but hadn't been intimate with God all week long! Stop trying to treat God like a sugar daddy and start romancing Him with worship and praise: 'I'm yours Lord...everything I've got...everything I'm not!'
The God we serve, which is the God of love, demands and requires of us foreplay before He gives us what we need. In the book of Ruth, the Mother-in-law tells Ruth, 'You have to wash.' John 15:3 reminds us, Now Ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. When you sit in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you are taking a shower. When you hear the unadulterated Word of God, then the dirt and grime that you've accumulated all week long begins to wash off of you. Ask God to 'create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit. Stand in the word. Then wait upon the Lord to renew your strength. Pass this on to those who have found or are seeking Mr. Right. This message is not directed at the receiver, it is directed to women I know that touch other young women that can benefit from this information. We are to be Naomi's of the world today. Our young women need to be informed of how to catch and keep a man that will respect them.
"If he can't meet you where you are....leave him where he's at"

Enough is enough already. I hope this was for a fashion cover, fashion show or something, but if she is walking dandy and fine down the street with this do, what a dear shame. As I have mentioned before, I am all for unique styles, but you will not see me partaking in this fiasco just because a celeb is doing it. Most of these celebs are paid simply to influence the media. So you go out and spend your cash flow to look like the celeb who is getting paid to influence you. The only style I will be getting is one that I like on myself. I love crazy updos! (I wish my curly mop could keep a style!) So, if Cassie loves this on herself, that is all that matters. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but at the end what matters is Cassie's opinion in regards to herself and her image. It looks foolish with those glasses on, but okay with them off. Props to Cassie and an *Arsenio fist pump* for her daring to be different. WHOO HOO!

a. Viva La Juicy - Can't get enough couture? Well here's even more—for Juicy girls who want it all. Juicy Couture presents Viva La Juicy, an enticing scent of wild berries and mandarins, honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine. To round it out, amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline add just the right touch of sweetness.
b. Vera Wang Rock Princess - Each verse is equally captivating in the dark, fruity scent that channels sultry rock-star attitude. It takes the stage with an exhilarating intro of succulent white peach, bittersweet red raspberry, and an illuminating flash of vibrant bergamot. The chorus reveals itself in lovely layers of ultrafeminine florals—hypnotic heliotrope, vintage-inspired rose, night-blooming jasmine, delicate lily, and an unexpected riff of sharp, spicy accents. The melody bridges to a finale, cloaking the essence in the warm, sensual glow of plush cashmere woods, smoldering musk, elegant iris, and creamy coconut. You will not forget her.
c. Escada Ocean Lounge - the evocative, new, limited-edition fragrance from ESCADA, is a blend of fruity overtones and floral undertones that meld to create a fresh, modern scent that evokes the spirit of summer. d. L de Lolita Lempicka - L, the second perfume from designer Lolita Lempicka, embodies an ancient mariner myth, with the sea for a background and a mermaid for a mistress. The woman who wears it is untamed and precious, free and elusive. The scent itself is a passionate combination of everlasting flower, bitter orange, cinnamon, vanilla and precious woods. And like a treasure recovered from the deep, the aquamarine, heart-like jewel of a bottle is caught in a golden net.
e. Lolita Lempicka - an enchanting and alluring fragrance that gently balances the sweetness of ivy leaves and aniseed with delicate violet and iris root, and finishes with a smooth hint of vanilla and musk. This sensual fragrance is pure, light, and endearing.
f. Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy - Epitomizing the Carolina Herrera woman, this seductive blend of captivating tangerine, bergamot, and rose pepper sprinkled with floral petals, gardenia, and hints of cotton candy warmed with musk - is sure to seduce from the very first encounter.

Young Money's Artist Shanell - Nose Ring: Fashion Do or Don't?
21 comments Posted by Lil Lady at Monday, August 03, 2009I do understand that everyone wants to be different and unique, but this nose ring looks like it is quite painful. I'm loving her makeup and the jet black hair, but that nose ring is not my cup of tea. I am a very unique dresser and "accessorizer" myself, but what a dear shame if I have to blow my nose with this hanging out of my nostril. It looks like a huge booger or piece of snot hanging out of her nose. And I would be tired of it hitting my lips and messing up my lipstick or gloss. Ladies, what do you think?
But, on another note, I think D.Woods sister Shanell is okay on the music side. Check out her songs via this link:
"Shanell, who has been in the game for quite some time, penning hits for Lil’ Wayne and Kelis, just to name a few, will release A Taste of Shanell, a first listen at the sexier, softer side of Young Money. While working on her debut album, Shanell is also performing alongside Wayne and the rest of Young Money on their America’s Most Wanted tour."
I got the photo and quote from Concrete Loop.
